For my mom’s 75th birthday, I’m making a video collage of her favorite people - YOU.
Between now & her birthday - March 20 - please help us celebrate this wonderful woman by recording a video & sending it to me.
Instructions
First and foremost, this is a SURPRISE. She doesn’t know we’re doing this, and I’d like to keep it that way :)
Please send me your videos by Monday, March 11. The sooner the better please!
Please send me the video via email or Facebook Messenger. Jakemccook@gmail.com. An iCloud/Google Drive/Dropbox link is even better. The war between iPhones and Androids continues, so you can’t text it to me, it will come out grainy. If you’re sending from an iPhone, you should be able to make an iCloud link and email it to me.
Please including two things in the video: 1) A favorite memory, piece of advice, or funny story about her, no longer than 45 seconds. 2) A “Happy birthday” message at the end - with whatever embellishments you want.
Include as many people in the video as you want. So babies, dogs, cats, horses, are all welcome.
Recording Tips
Record the video horizontally (sideways) rather than vertically if you can. This is the best for videos with more than 2 people.
If you don’t have someone to record for you, that’s okay! I can use vertical videos too.
Record the video with your main camera lens instead of your “selfie” camera lens. You will need a person or a stand to do this, so if you don’t have either, that’s okay, I can still use “selfie” style videos too.
Make sure we can hear you clearly. Inside is better than outside and smaller rooms are better than larger rooms with high ceilings. Keep the camera close to you to pick-up the sound. Re-try if there’s background noise like animals, cars, lawn mowers, etc.
Make sure there’s plenty of light. Overhead lights and lamps can help, just don’t shoot directly at them to avoid glare.
Don’t overthink it! This is not a professional video, just a nice surprise for her 75th birthday. Remember to send by Monday, March 4, 2024.
